UPSC Recruitment of GEOLOGISTS’ EXAMINATION – 2010

The Union Public Service commission will hold the Geologists’ Examination 2010 commencing from 4th December, 2010 for recruitment to Geologist (Junior), Group A and Assistant Geologist Grade-I, Group B in the Geological Survey of India and Jr. Hydrogeologists (Scientist B) Group A in the Central Ground Water Board. The examination will be held at various centres across the country.

Conditions of Eligibility

* (A) Age Limits: Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on 1st January, 2010. Relaxation in the upper age limit as per Govt. of India rules.
* (B) Educational Qualifications:

* A candidate must hold (i) Master’s Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognised University or (ii) Master’s Degree in Mineral Exploration or (iii) Master’s Degree in Hydrology or (iv) Diploma of Associateship in Applied Geology of the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.

* (C) Physical Standards: candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for Indian Geologist’s Examination, 2009 as prescribed in the detailed advertisement.
