Post-Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test
Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET) is a AP State Level Common Entrance Test for admission into Regular PG Courses in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Pharmacy and Planning (ME / M.Tech./M.Pharmacy / M.Arch / M. Tech. / M. Plg./Graduate level Pharm-D (Post Baccalaureate) courses for the academic year 2010-2011 conducted by University College of Engineering, Osmania Uni- versity on behalf of A.P. State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), a statutory Body of the Government ofA.P., Hyderabad.
Objectives:
To identify at the state level, meritorious and motivated candidates for admission to Post Graduate programmes in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Pharmacy, Graduate level Pharm-D (PB) and Planning.
Serve as bench mark for normalization of the Under Graduate Engineering education in the state.

Read the following instructions carefully:-
All the candidates who fall within the criteria are required to meet the concerned Department Teacher-in-Charge (Admission) between 10.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. on 23rd June, 24th June, and 25th June, 2010.
2. Candidates seeking admission should bring following Certificates in Original along with the
Photocopy:-
a. 10th Class Certificate/Marksheet as proof for Date of Birth.
b. 12th Class Mark Sheet
c. Provisional Certificate
d. Character Certificate/School Leaving Certificate
e. SC/ST Certificate (in the name of Candidate) for SC/ST Candidates.
f. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate in the name of the Candidate (For OBC Candidates).
g. Transfer Certificate from school/college as well as Migration Certificate from Board/University are required from those students who have passed senior secondary exam from outside Delhi
h. 4 Passport size Photographs
i. Registration Slip of the College or University Centralized Registration Receipt and Printout of Online Registration Form. Admission will not be made if the documents are incomplete.
3. Without original mark sheet admission will not be given to the candidate. No photocopy of the original marksheet will be accepted.
4. If the candidate offers the proof of date of birth in any official document the form may be accepted with an undertaking that he/she shall submit the Xth certificate within one week.
5. The Teacher-in-Charge must ensure the three Admission forms, Declaration forms, Enrolment forms and IDC forms (for B.A.(H) and B.A. (P) students only) must signed by the applicant.
6. The Teacher-in-Charge shall sign all the three admission forms.

he minimum cut off percentage (adjusted as per admission criteria) as the basis of admission for the academic year 2010-2011, subject to other conditions, is shown below.
The First Cut-off list will be placed on the College Notice Board on Tuesday 22nd June 2010 at 10.00 a.m.
The Second Cut-off list (if any) will be placed on the College Notice Board on Saturday 26th June 2010 at 10.00 a.m.
Students are advised to peruse the list carefully.
Admission to the college will be strictly subject to availability of seats on the basis of merit and NOT on first come first served basis.
All the eligible candidates are instructed to bring THREE passport size photographs along with them to complete the admission procedure.

Eligibility for Admission to Undergraduate Courses
* Candidates should have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination (class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, or an examination recognized as equivalent by the University of Delhi, held in 2010.
* In exceptional cases, students who have passed class XII in earlier years may be considered for admission on providing valid reason and submission of proof for the gap years.
* Where grades are given in School, transfer of grades to marks will be in accordance with the norms of Association of Indian Universities.
* For admission to Gargi College, candidates should qualify within the cut-off percentages (including subject weightage) after taking into account negative weightage for certain subjects as declared by the college.
There is no discrimination inadmission criteria for Hindi medium students. However, at GargiCollege the medium of instructionis English in all courses except in the discipline of Political Science.

How to Apply
* The candidate should have filled the common pre-admission form (OMR form) of the University of Delhi as Gargi College does not have its own pre-admission form. Gargi College Code and relevant Course Code should have been selected / ticked in the form.
* The college will display minimum cut off percentages of Class XII aggregate marks for each Course, along with all other criteria for admission, on days prescribed by the University and as given under Admission Schedule of this prospectus.
* On being eligible for admission to Gargi College as per the college criteria, the candidate may fill the College Admission form on prescribed days of admission and submit it along with the required documents and fees.
Documents Required for Admission
1. Dateof Birth Certificate (Class X Certificate).
2. Certificateof the last examination passed.
3. Marksheet of the last examination passed.
4. CharacterCertificate from the school/college last attended.
5. Collegeleaving/Migration Certificate wherever necessary.
6. Certificateof having passed a Board or Class VIII Examination in Hindi (if exemption fromCompulsory test in Hindi is sought).
7. RelevantCaste certificate (including OBC non-creamy layer), Disability certificate andcertificate from Armed Forces, whichever applicable, in case admission issought in reserved category.
8. MedicalFitness and Participation Certificates for admission on sports basis.
9. ParticipationCertificates for Extra-Curricular Activities for admission on ECA quota.
10. 1Stamp-sized photograph to be affixed on the admission form.
11. Aphotocopy of the common pre-admission form (OMR form) of the University of Delhiin which the GargiCollege code and coursecode have been selected by the candidate.
12. Copyof receipt of prospectus of this college.
*Self-attested copies will be accepted. It is made clear that ifany false attestation/falsified records are detected, the student will bedebarred from attending any course in the University or its college(s) for nextfive years and in addition, a criminal case under relevant sections of IPC(viz. 470, 471, 474 IPC etc.) will be instituted against her to subject her tothe requisite criminal proceeding.
The candidates name in the application form shouldbe the same as in the birth
Certificate. Please add father’s names/surnameto avoid confusion between identical
names while tabulating marks at a later stage.
Indicate your preference for the medium ofinstruction wherever applicable
Provisional Admission
Candidates who are unable to produce any of the certificatesrequired for admission, because their University / Board has not issued thesame till the date of admission, will be given provisional admission till 6thAugust, 2010 by which date they are required to submit all the relevantcertificates, failing which their admission will be cancelled.
The candidates must bring their parents/guardians at thetime of admission for signing the admission form in presence of the teacher -in – charge of admissions.
If a candidate is eligible for admission as per the criteriain the first admission list, then the fees must be deposited within thestipulated time along with the relevant documents. Once the next admission list is declared thecandidates eligible from the previous list will not be considered foradmission.

For Admission the 1st year of the Bachelor Degree Course:-
* An applicant must have passed Senior School Certificate (10 + 2) or the Indian School Certificate (12years) or an equivalent Examination recognized by Delhi University.
* There is no minimum age bar for admission to under graduate courses.
* Gap year cases will be considered according to Delhi University norms.
* Application for admission to the college should be made on the preliminary registration form which is available with the prospectus or separately. * All applicants seeking admission to the College should also read the Bulletin of Information issued by the University of Delhi. The college also accepts OMR forms issued with the Bulletin.
* Students may apply for more than one course. For each course a separate form should be filled and submitted. Only candidates who have applied for a particular course will be considered for admission to that course.
* Completed forms for both College and Hostel should be submitted in the college office as per date notified in the Delhi University Schedule.
* The list of applicants selected/cut off % will be put up on the college notice board as per programme notified by the Delhi University. No individual intimation regarding admission will be sent.
* The applicants should present themselves in person for admission.
The applicant should bring the following documents :-
o Three unattested, passport size recent photographs.
o Original Certificate
Certificate of class X
Mark sheet of class XII (Character Certificate and Provisional Certificate from the institution last attended.)
o Attested photocopies of the above certificates. Self attested documents will be accepted.
o If any false attestation/falsified records are detected, the student will be debarred from attending any course in the University or its college(s) for next five years and in addition, a criminal case under relevant section of IPC (viz. 470,471,4741 PC etc.) will be instituted against her to subject her to the requisite criminal proceeding.
o Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Other Backward Classes (OBC) applicant should attach a Certificate to the effect in her own name.
* Admission to all courses are routed through various committees constituted for the purpose. Applicants are requested not to approach the Principal in connection with admissions.
* No student whose name appears in the admission list (or who qualifies on the basis of the percentage indicated in the list) shall be denied admission provided she pays the fees by the date and time stipulated.
* Waiting lists for admission if required shall consist of applicants who have already applied before the last date of submission of application forms.
* Every student shall be required to sign a declaration to submit to the disciplinary jurisdiction of the Principal, Vice-Chancellor and other authorities in accordance with the Statutes and Ordinances of Delhi University.
* All admissions are subject to the approval of University of Delhi.

For Admission to M.A Part-I
* An applicant must have passed the Bachelor Degree Examination (10-2 + 3).
* There is no minimum age bar for admission to post-graduate courses in the University and its Colleges.
* The previous academic record should be of high standard.
* For admission to M.A., students must also apply directly to the appropriate Faculty in the University of Delhi for registration. No decision regarding admission to the College will be taken prior to the preliminary selection.

Reserved Category
* Scheduled caste/tribe students should get themselves registered with the University of Delhi. They will be admitted on the basis of provisional admission slip issued by the University.
* Students claiming the benefit of handicapped quota ,children of officers and men of Armed Forces killed or disabled in war are required to get their names registered with the Delhi University Office. A maximum of 5% seats are reserved for the above.
* OBC quota admissions will be done as per University norms.
