Eligibility:10+2 (Science) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with minimum 60% of marks in 10+2 final exam.
Admission criteria:On the basis of marks obtained in 10+2 exam
M.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Technologies (2 yrs): Full Time and Part Time
Eligibility:M.Sc. (El.Sc./ECT/Instr.) with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or B.Tech./B.E. in Elect. & Commn./ Instr./Electrical with a minimum CPI of 5
Admission criteria:Admission Test to be conducted by IST, GU. For part time category, minimum 3 years professional experience required. For details, refer prospectus.
M.Tech. in Information Technology (2 yrs) : Full Time and Part Time
Eligibility:BE/BTech in CSE/IT/ECE/MCA /M.Sc.-IT/M.Sc.- CS/M.Sc.-Maths and Computing or equivalent
Admission criteria:Admission Test to be conducted by IST, GU. For part time category, minimum 3 years professional experience required. For details, refer prospectus.
* Bachelor of Technology in Electronics & Communication Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, Bio Technology, Information Technology.
** Bachelor of Science in Physical Science, Chemical Science, Mathematical Science
Applications in prescribed forms are invited from eligible candidates for admission into the above courses for the session 2010-11. The Prospectus can be obtained at the cost of Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three hundred) only at the (i) Institute of Science and Technology-GU (ii) GU Information Center, WUS Building, Ambari, Guwahati-1, from 11-06-2010 on all working days. The payment may be made at the G.U. Cash Counter or by Bank Draft in favour of the IST, Gauhati University and payable at Guwahati. Request by post must be accompanied by Demand Draft and a self-addressed envelope of 25 cmX31 cm size with postage stamp of Rs. 25/- (Rupees Twenty Five) only. The prospectus may also be downloaded from www.gauhati.ac.in. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay, damage or loss.
Duly filled in prescribed application forms for B.Tech. courses will be received at theoffice of IST, G.U. from 11-06-2010 and at the temporary counter, CEE Counseling Venue during the counseling days.
Application forms for B.S. and M.Tech. courses will be received at the office of IST, G.U. till 15-07-2010.
Reservation: Reservation shall be as per G.U. Rules. The candidates seeking admission on reserved quota viz. SC, ST, OBC and MOBC shall be given relaxation up to 5% (Five percent) of the marks prescribed for eligibility criteria. The relaxation will not be applicable to candidates seeking admission on any other reserved quota
