West Bengal Police Constables Application Forms 2010 | West Bengal Police Constables Recruitment Selection Procedure 2010|

West Bengal Police Recruitment Board invites application for the post of Constables (Male) in West Bengal Police. Application Forms will be available from the following offices from 16-08-2010.
(a) S.P. office OR Police Lines in District Headquarters.
(b) S.D.P.O. office OR Police Station at Sub-divisional Headquarters.
Qualification:-
(a) Should be an Indian citizen.
(b) Should have passed Madhyamik Pariksha or equivalent.
Aee :-
(As on 01-01-2010) 18 to 27 years. Upper age limit will be relaxed by 5 years for S.C./ S.T. candidates and by 3 years for O.B.C. candidates.
Applicaton Fee:-
Rs.150/- by Crossed Demand Draft/Crossed Postal Order payable to “West Bengal Police Recruitment Board”. No application fee will be charged from S.C./ S.T. candidates.
Note :-
Application form will be issued from 16-08-2010 till 10-09-2010. Application forms will be issued on production of Crossed Demand Draft / Crossed Postal Order or S.C./ S.T. certificate.
Reservation :- As per rules of the Government of West Bengal.
Minimum Physical Measurement :-
(a) For AH Categories : [except those in (b) below ]
Height – 167 Cms.
Chest – 78 cms. with minimum expansion of 5 cms. (78 cms – 83 cms.).
Weight – Proportionate to height and age as per medical standard.
(b) For Gorkha, Garwalis, Rajbansis and Schedule Tribes : Height- 160 Cms.
Chest – 76 cms. with minimum expansion of 5 cms. (76 cms – 81 cms.) Weight – Proportionate to height and age as per medical standard.
Process of Recruitment :-
The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board will be in charge of the recruitment process. Recruitment will consist of the following steps.
1) Physical Measurement.
2) 1600 Meters Run – to be completed in less than 6 minutes 30 seconds.
3) Written test (90 marks) - The written examination will have objective type questions on general awareness, general knowledge, elementary mathematics, etc. The question paper will be in English, Bengali, Hindi or Nepali, depending on the choice of the candidate.
4) Interview – ( 10 marks ).
If a candidate does not clear a stage in the recruitment process he will not be allowed to proceed to the next stage. For example if a candidate is not found fit in physical measurement, he cannot participate in 1600 meters run. If a candidate fails in 1600 meters run, he cannot write the written test.
The rank list will be prepared on the basis of total marks in the written test and the interview. Selected candidates will have to undergo a medical test.
