Purvanchal University (renamed as Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University in the honour of late Shri Veer Bahadur Singh, former Chief Minister of the state) Jaunpur.
The dearth of technical and professional educational facilities and growing demand for need based courses in the region have been the guiding factors that have led the university on the path of continuous academic growth with the beginning of 16 more residential courses in the various streams including Engineering & Technology (B.Tech.), Modern and Applied Sciences (MBT), Management ( MFC, MHRD), Pharmacy(B.Pharmacy) and Applied Social Sciences(MAP, MBE, MMC ) in mere 15 years since it’s inception. The last three years have witnessed a remarkable growth in the university with the introduction of new courses like B. Pharm, B. Tech. in Instrumentation, Mechanical & IT, M. Sc. (Applied Biochemistry, Applied Microbiology & Environmental Sciences), MBA (Agri-Business), MBA(E-Commerce). In addition, the university has introduced a number of need-based PG Diploma programmes in different subject areas like Financial Management , International Business, Export Management, Stress Management, Sports Psychology, etc during the last 3 years.
