IIST an Educational and Research Institute invites applications from eligible candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) to work for a project. The Researcher will have access to IIST Laboratory and other ISRO Laboratories, if needed.
Institute: Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology
Programme: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Title of the project: Impact of assimilating SAPHIR and GPS-ROS data from MEGHA TROPIQUES in High resolution Mesoscale Model for Prediction of severe weather systems over India.
Duration of the project: Fellowship is initially for a period of 1 year but extendable further.
Remuneration: Rs. 12,000/- per month+HRA which might be increased to Rs. 14,000 +HRA after two years.
Eligibility: M.Sc in Atmospheric Science/Meteorology/ Physics with minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA on 10 Scale with good academic record.
Desirable: Experience in Mesoscale Modeling and data assimilation.
Age: 28 years as on August 1, 2010. Relaxable for specified categories as per rules.

Selection Process:
 Based on a written test followed by interview.
