About IITM
MBA@IITM was conceptualized taking into account the strong and urgent need for well educated and developed managers who would not only be able to understand the finer nuances of business but also be able to put into practice the knowledge and values acquired during the programme.
Earlier IIT Madras offered an M Tech (Industrial Management) programme for nearly four decades. This programme catered to only engineering graduates. In 1991-92, one of the first national level surveys of B-schools and business education programmes in our country. This M Tech programme was rated among the top three. The alumni of the programme now occupy top positions in many world-class organizations.
Currently, the department offers degrees in MBA, MS and Ph.D’s in various functional areas and specialized domains of the industry.
